Betty Sue Vachter
June 11, 1929 - July 25, 2017
Betty Sue Vachter was born in Galt, Missouri on June 11, 1929 and passed away on July 25, 2017. Betty's parents- Ernest and Eulah Johnson left Missouri in 1939 and settled in Brooks, Oregon. Betty graduated from Gervais High School and was always proud of her time on the school's cheerleading squad. She was a long time resident of Salem where she raised her family before settling in Woodburn. Her signature red hair, which in many ways represented her spirited disposition, left her well known by many. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Clyde and sons- Clyde Jr. and Craig. She is survived by her daughters- Cheryl, who is married to Frank Lonergan of Woodburn, and Charlene Huber of Salem. She was very proud of her two grandchildren- Tammi Huber who currently resides in Germany and Shawn Lonergan who is a Major in the US Army and assigned to Fort Meade, Maryland. Betty enjoyed gardening, traveling, collecting "Betty Boop" memorabilia, and her trips to enjoy those "one armed bandits." Contributions can be made to the "Love Santa Inc." in Woodburn. Assisting the family is Simon-Cornwell Funeral Service.
