Fredrick Carl Schneider

Fredrick (Fred) Carl Schneider passed away on November 24th at the age of 97. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Schneider. Fred was a WWII Pilot and attended the California Institute of Technology after serving in the Navy. After graduation he began working for Shell Oil Company, where he quickly advanced in his profession. Soon after, he was recruited by IBM and moved to the Bay Area where he pursued a career in Computer Engineering. After moving to San Francisco, he met his wife Zita (Tomie) and the two were married for 50 years before she passed in 2013. Fred had a great love for life! He enjoyed traveling, photography, and spending time with family. He made a powerful impression on everyone he met. In 2014, Fred married his second wife Darlene and they spent the next several years traveling together and enjoying life. Fred leaves behind his wife Darlene, his two daughters Annemarie Prophet and Katrina Cole, and his four grandsons. A burial service with military honors will be held on December 27th at 12:00pm at St. Anthony’s Parish Cemetery in Tigard, Oregon. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at a later date in April.
