Joanne Schulze, a spiritual woman, was welcomed into Heaven on October 6, 2018 at the age of 86. The youngest of 7 children, she was born in Portland, Oregon to the parents of Frederick and Margaret Gilbert. She spent her early years in the Rose City area of Portland, graduating from Grant High School. Her career as a Title Officer extended for 25 years. Joanne and her husband, Len, were long time residents of the Charbonneau District in Wilsonville, spending much of their retirement years traveling. They enjoyed many trips to the Oregon Coast, Sunriver, and Marco Island, Florida. Joanne leaves behind her children, Pamela Zapp, Christie Teach, Charles Arnold, Kurt Arnold, and their spouses, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Len, and will join him in a private inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 498 NW 9th, Canby, Oregon. A light lunch will follow. Joanne will be remembered for her love of life, grace, and classic style. She faced the challenges of the day with courage, and was admired and loved by all.
