September 15, 1957 - March 19, 2020
John Thomas McCain, Passed on March 19, 2020, due to complications from a few different medical conditions at his residence in Hubbard, Oregon at the age of 61. John is survived by his parents; Tom and Gail McCain: his five kids, Sheree, Amy, Joey, Angie, and “the baby” Kristal; his 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his brother Ricky, and sister’s Judy, Linda, Barbara, Connie and Christina; he was predeceased by his sister Peggy. John was born on September 15,1957 at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, Illinois. He attended New Athens Community High School in New Athens Illinois where he graduated in 1975. John was a skilled craftsman who had many talents. He spent many years as a long haul truck driver where he traveled from California to New York and everywhere in between. He was mechanically inclined and was able to work on anything put in front of him. He worked on crews that built hotels at the beach on the West Coast and houses from the ground up with his uncle Bill back east. John had a passion for cars, for helping others and for his time outdoors. He had a heart of gold, his subtle humor was known by everyone he came in contact with, his corny jokes, his wise cracks, and his famous wet willies that never missed their mark. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace in the arms of the Lord. “The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:18 A private family viewing has been scheduled for John on Tuesday, March 24 from 9:00-1:00 followed by a burial service at 2:00 at the Hubbard Community Cemetery. Due to the Corona Virus Outbreak, a memorial service will be scheduled once we are allowed to.
