    Nancy "Pearl" King

    August 30, 1927 - February 4, 2021

    N. Pearl (Widmer) King, 93, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2021. Pearl was born to Dan and Elfie Widmer on August 30, 1927. Their family lived on a large farm near Sheridan, Oregon where her father owned Widmer Seed House. She attended a one room school and in 1944 moved with her family to Woodburn, Oregon. As a child there were always guests at their table. She learned early on how to cook and at age 19 moved to Salem where she worked for a couple families preparing and serving meals. She thoroughly enjoyed entertaining and through the years countless family and friends were recipients of wonderful meals and her gift of hospitality. Her family was very involved in their church and regularly attended church conferences. In 1948 at one of those conferences in Canada, Pearl met the love of her life - Morley King. They were married on July 24, 1949 and enjoyed 70 years together prior to Morley's passing in 2020. Music was a very important part of her life and growing up her family all sang together and played various musical instruments. She continued her love of music as an adult and sang in many trios, quartets and choirs. Pearl worked at Voget Meats in Hubbard, Oregon for 20 years. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard but especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would always remember birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions with cards and/or a phone call. She also kept in touch with her siblings, nieces and nephews and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pearl is survived by her sons Gerald (Cathi) King and Rick King; 6 grandchildren: Michelle (Joshua) Morrow, Jennifer Lucas, Kristi (Brant) Pryor, Carly (Michael) Parent, Angela King and Jake King; and 6 great-grandchildren: Ellie, Annie and Cole Lucas; Isabella, Madison and Logan Morrow. Interment is at Belle Passi Mausoleum in Woodburn, Oregon.
