Rebecca Ceniga
September 15, 1950 - November 3, 2016
Rebecca Kay Ceniga (September 15, 1950-November 3, 2016) Rebecca Ceniga passed away at home surrounded by loved ones after a long struggle with cancer. Rebecca was born in Wilmar Minnesota and her family moved constantly westward as her father, Vern Bice, moved up in management with the Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in Portland. Rebecca graduated from Wenachee High School and later followed her parents to Portland, where she met her husband Julian Ceniga. They were married in 1975. She is survived by her husband and a large extended family. A son, Julian and wife Rochelle. A daughter, Sarah and husband John Follett. Four sisters and a brother. Two of which were at her bedside when she passed away, sister Marsha and husband Warren Mach. Brother Jeff and wife Karrie Bice. Five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A long time dream of hers came true when at the age of 40, she went back to school and got a degree in engineering and worked in that field and as a planner for Clackamas County until she retired earlier this year. She was very intelligent, had a quick wit, well read and highly valued for her opinions on a number of topics. She enjoyed great food, traveling, sewing and the country life in the house they built in West Linn, OR. It was the scene of many parties, family gatherings and several weddings. She will be missed deeply by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Willamette Rivers Keepers. A Thousand Friends of Oregon, or to cancer research.
